About Us

Georgia Taxpayers United was formed to address an alarming lack of accountability towards taxpayers by Georgia politicians at the local, state, and national levels of government.

Far too often, “fiscal responsibility,” “freedom,” and “liberty” are the battle cries of candidates seeking office in Georgia only to have “taxation,” “regulation,” and “statism” become the reality when those candidates become elected officials.

At Georgia Taxpayers United, we believe that the People of Georgia are endowed with Natural Rights, and that the proper role of government is to ensure the protection of those Rights.

We believe that fundamental among these Rights are the right to pursue one’s own life free from government interference, the right to privately own property, and the right to keep the fruits of one’s own labor.

We believe that our constitutional republic provides us with a brilliant system of checks and balances on government power not only between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches but also between the local, state, and national levels of government.

We believe that government taxation and spending should be narrowly limited to those powers and purposes specifically granted by the People and enumerated in the Constitution of the State of Georgia and the Constitution for the United States of America.

We believe that it is the responsibility of the People to actively ensure that their elected representatives adhere to these principles and to hold them accountable to the Rule of Law at all times.

Georgia Taxpayers United is dedicated to:

  • reducing and eliminating burdensome, ill-advised, and punitive government taxation;

  • abolishing unconstitutional, wasteful, and anti-free market government laws, regulations, and programs;

  • promoting free market solutions to problems as viable alternatives to government interference in the market; and

  • promoting maximal liberty and freedom for the People.

We invite you to join us by signing petitions, postcards, and letters; sending emails and faxes; making phone calls; personally visiting your representatives; and contributing to our organization.

Together we can hold politicians accountable and achieve maximum economic and personal liberty for each and every individual in Georgia.
